A pat on the back….

I can’t help but laugh at what just happenend to me. I knew I needed to shovel the snow before Pat gets home from work, so time to shove Banks on her snowsuit, strap her to my back and grab the shovel. When I get out there, my neighbor is out to do the same thing…only difference, he’s got a snow blower. I get started and out of the corner of my eye, I see him struggling to get it started. I continue to push the snow away, realizing my daughter is not exactly light. My neighbor, we’ll call him Bill for now, is frustratingly fidgiting away at his machine as I continue to kick ass on our driveway. Just as I’m shoveling the last push, Bill gets his machine started, looks over and I give him a big wave and high five to Banks and head inside. He doesn’t wave back. I’m now inside fixing some hot tea and still hear him with his silly machine. I feel proud to be a mom who can get the job done, a little manual labor with my kid strapped to my back. Cheers Bill, you missed a spot.
